I currently reside in the Hermosa Neighborhood with my wife Karla, and son Addison. We love making music together, taking drives around Evanston, and playing late night Roblox as a family . As of late, we’re Family Ministries Pastors at City Church Chicago, doing everything we love!

Our son Addison is 18 years old. He’s runs a clothing brand called Savior, he loves family and friends more than anything, finding indie bands that nobody knows about, taking drives at night, and is currently falling in love with film.

Karla and I married seven years ago in a gorgeous barn in Wisconsin. The first thing that attracted me to her back in 2015 was the purity of her joy, and her passion for early childhood education. She started doing that full time under the name Little Parade about seven years ago.

Creativity has been my thing since the very beginning. My Fathers old sketchbooks motivated me to draw, he and my mom taking me and my two siblings to concerts since we were babies grew my love for live music and production. My parents modeled Godliness, holistic health, and the value loving people unconditionally.

My first personal encounter with God was in a Childrens’ Church service at a family camp. HE literally knocked me off my feet, and has been relentlessly faithful ever since. HE is pertinaciously good and the source of my joy.

My love for picture books came when my son was a baby. I read two to three books to him before bed every night until he was about 10 years old. We discovered new authors and great illustrators together, made up so many great voices for characters, and we’d often times fall asleep during the last book. Needless to say, I have a really strong tie to picture books. As an illustrator myself, i’m on a journey to better communicate through color and imagery.

Random Fun Facts: I can eat pizza and drink Nutella Latte’s at any moment of any day. I prefer Nickelodeon shows over many other shows. If my house were burning down i’d in for my picture book collection and my Bible. I’m a proud enneagram Type 2. My favorite picture book is Hug Machine by Scott Campbell. I have a pretty bad stutter, but conversation fills me. I am the middle child. My favorite movie is Sleepless in Seattle. I have a Moped named ‘Cado (short for Avocado because it’s green). Coffee makes me sleepy. My favorite band is Copeland. I like making music on anything that makes an audible sound. Metal breakdowns are going on in my head most of the day, so if you catch my playing drums on my lap just know that’s whats going on. My first tattoo was the words “Jesus Freak” in a type writer font on my left arm. I am left handed. The first full song I ever wrote was a song called “It’s Over” for my high school pop punk band. I am notorious for typos.
